Converters for shore power systems
Industrilink offers an easy, quick and cost efficient solution for connecting low voltage vessels to the harbor power grid.
Different vessels require different power, voltage and frequency levels. Industrilink has developed a standard solution to meet the different vessel requirements. This simplifies the installation of required shore connection equipment both on board the vessel and at the harbor.
A simple solution is available covering the power supply demands for vessels with power grids from 380V to 690V, 50- and 60Hz. When connected to the ship power grid, the shore power is synchronized to the ship power supply enabling a seamless power transfer without disruption of vessel services.
A transformer is needed to avoid common mode currents and to allow single phase loads. A rugged dry-type, air cooled transformer is used.
A frequency converter is required to adapt the grid power, voltage and frequency to the ship’s onboard power system requirements. It is located inside the shore supply enclosure. The frequency converter used is based on well proven technology, providing the vessel with the required power at a very high efficiency level at all load conditions.

Connection to the harbor power supply grid and vessel can be done by use of flexible cables with power connectors. Several options are available. The selected solution needs to be according to local requirements.
The system can be built into a small enclosure containing all electrical equipment, movable either by a fork lift or by shackles and slings.
